Sam Kohm Will Join Brother in Athens With 2022 Verbal Pledge to Georgia Bulldogs

NEW COMMIT: Blue Bell, Pa. native Sam Kohm has given his verbal commitment to the University of Georgia along with Matt Sates for the Class of 2026.

His older brother, Zach Kohm, has also sent his verbal pledge to the Bulldogs and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2021.

He told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Georgia!! I would like to thank all my friends, family, and coaches for helping me get to this point, I can’t wait to call Athens home! Go dawgs!!”

Kohm, who does his club swimming with Plymouth Whitemarsh Aquatics under renowned Olympic swim coach Richard Shoulberg and Caroline Boland, collected four gold and four silver medals at the Middle Atlantic Junior Olympic Age Group Championships in March 2019. Last long course season, he recorded five best times at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors where he placed eighth in the 1500m free.

His best times include:

  • 500 free – 4:41.92
  • 1000 free – 9:40.16
  • 1650 free – 16:00.10

A current junior at LaSalle College High School, Kohm finished 18th in the 500 free at the Eastern Interscholastic Championships during his freshman season.

Georgia finished third at the 2020 SEC Championships, only 22 points behind runners-up Texas A&M.
