NEW COMMIT: Futures qualifier Paige Sondgeroth of Las Vegas, Nevada, has selected to continue her academic and swimming career at the University of the Pacific beginning in the fall of 2021.

She will join Shaker Heights, Ohio native Ellie MacPhail as a member of the Tigers’ Class of 2025.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of the Pacific!! I want to thank my family and friends for supporting me throughout this crazy journey as well as my teammates and coaches from all of the amazing teams I have been blessed to be a part of. They have helped me become the swimmer I am today and achieve my goal of becoming a Division 1 athlete! I can’t wait to become part of this outstanding team and family! GO TIGERS! ?”
Sondgeroth, who does her club swimming with Sandpipers of Nevada, recorded three best times and had a trio of top-10 finishes at the TYR Desert Committee Championships in February after recording a fourth-place showing in the 100 breast at the Nevada State Championships last November.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.73
  • 100 free – 53.88
  • 200 free – 1:55.42
  • 100 breast – 1:05.46
  • 200 breast – 2:21.64
  • 200 IM – 2:07.99
  • 400 IM – 4:30.10
  • 100 back – 1:02.27
  • 200 back – 2:09.69

In Summer 2019, she had a great showing at Western Zones where she finished 11th in the 200m IM and 13th in the 200m breast. Also competing for Bishop Gorman High School, Sondgeroth competed on the 4×50 and 4×100 free relay at the 2019 Nevada State Championships.

Sondgeroth will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when she arrives on campus at the start of the 2021-22 season. Under head coach Katelyne Herrington, Pacific finished seventh overall in the team standings at the 2020 MPSF Championships.
