Futures Qualifier Claire Rumzie Lends Verbal Commitment to Arkansas Razorbacks

NEW COMMIT: Truckee, Calif. native Claire Rumzie has announced her intention to continue her academic and swimming career at the University of Arkansas beginning in the fall of 2021.

She will join Macy Lawrence and Becca Simpson in the Razorback’s class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“i’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the university of arkansas! a huge thank you to my parents, coaches and teammates for all the support! i’m looking forward to being a part of this amazing team and I can’t wait to be a razorback!! woo pig sooie!”

A Futures qualifier, Rumzie does her club swimming with Truckee Tahoe Swim Team and last competed at Carlsbad Sectionals in March where she earned two best times. At the ACSC Senior Open in February, she collected bronze in both the 100 free and 100 fly.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.06
  • 100 free – 52.37
  • 200 free – 1:54.27
  • 200 IM – 2:11.61
  • 100 fly – 59.27

Rumzie had a stellar showing at the Washington Open in January, notching seven new lifetime bests and finishing 16th in the 100 free. She will add valuable sprint freestyle depth both individually and on relays when she suits up for the Razorbacks at the start of the 2021-22 season.
