Arkansas Secures 2021 Verbal from Sprinter Macy Lawrence of Great Britain

NEW COMMIT: Tavistock, Great Britain native Macy Lawrence has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Arkansas and will arrive in Fayetteville in the fall of 2021.

She will join Becca Simpson in the Razorback’s class of 2025.

Lawrence most recently competed Camille Muffat International meet in February where she raced to 15th in the 50m free. At the Swim England Winter Championships in December, she earned 100% best times and finaled in three events. She also finaled in the 50m free at the British Swimming Championships in April 2019.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m very excited to announce my commitment to Arkansas. I chose Arkansas so that I could work with Neil Harper, to progress my swimming career under his guidance.”

In LCM, her best times include:

  • 50m free – 26.16
  • 100m free – 56.82
  • 50m fly – 29.01

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 free – 23.04
  • 100 free – 50.22
  • 50 fly – 25.35

Arkansas produced standout sprinter Anna Hopkin, who also hails from England, and Lawrence will add valuable sprint freestyle depth both individually and on relays when she suits up for the Razorbacks at the start of the 2021-22 season.
