NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has picked up their first early verbal pledge for the 2022-23 season from Sarasota, Fla. native Julia Brzozowski who will arrive in Tallahassee as a member of the Class of 2026.

Her older brother, Jason Brzozowski, recently announced his verbal commitment to the Seminoles for the fall of 2021.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at Florida State University. None of this would be possible without the constant support of my family, friends, and coaches. I’m so grateful for the journey that its been, and the journey to come. Go Noles!”

A talented distance freestyler, Brzozowski does her club swimming with Sarasota Tsunami Swim Team and won the 500 free and the mile at the CAT Clearwater Invitational in December where she achieved three best times. Last summer, she finished eighth in the 1500m free at Greensboro Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:55.74
  • 500 free – 4:55.57
  • 1000 free – 10:03.49
  • 1650 free – 16:58.75
  • 200 IM – 2:07.98
  • 400 IM – 4:35.22

Currently a junior at Riverview High School, Brzozowski placed 11th in the 500 free as a sophomore at the Florida 4A State Championships. She finished second in that event as well as sixth in the 200 IM at the FHSAA 4A Region 2 Championships the week prior as well.

When she arrives on campus in the fall of 2022, Brzozowski will add her talents to a training group led by Stephanie Holmes, Maggie Emary, and Giulia Grasso.

Under head coach Neal Studd, the Seminoles finished seventh overall in the team standings at the 2020 ACC Championships.
