NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has added a new addition for the fall of 2021 after receiving an in-state verbal commitment from U.S. Open qualifier Jason Brzozowski of Sarasota, Fla.

He will join Auben Nugent, Kevin Glenn, Arijus Pavlidi and Rian Covington in Tallahassee as a member of the Seminoles’ class of 2025.

Regarding his commitment, she said:

“I’m honored to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Florida State University. I would like to thank my family, coaches, and friends for helping me reach my goals. Go Noles!”

A talented mid-distance/distance freestyler and IMer, Brzozowksi does his club swimming with Sarasota Tsunami Swim Team. He earned four gold medals at December’s Clearwater Invite and won the 1000 free at the Florida Spring Championships in 2019.

Last summer, he placed 11th in the 400m IM at Gainesville Sectionals before going on to take fourth in that event as well as 20th in both the mile and 200m back at Greensboro Futures.

His best times include:

  • 500 free – 4:28.63
  • 1000 free – 9:14.26
  • 1650 free – 15:32.79
  • 200 IM – 1:51.99
  • 400 IM – 3:57.54

Also competing for Riverview High School, Brzozowski is a four-time Florida 4A State Championship finalist. He was the runner-up in the 500 free and placed fourth in the 200 IM as a junior while taking eighth and 10th, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season.

Under head coach Neal Studd, Florida State finished fifth overall in the team standings at the 2020 ACC Championships.
