Florida Gold Coast Championships

PLANTATION, Florida, March 29. FORT Lauderdale Aquatics came out on top during the 2010 Florida Gold Coast Short Course Yard Championships hosted by Plantation Swim Team.
Tiffany Oliver won four individual events including the 50 free (24.30), 100 free (51.90), 200 free (1:52.27), and 200 IM (2:12.70).
Rebecca Aiello from Fort Lauderdale Aquatics picked up two individual wins in the 500 free (5:05.26) and 400 IM (4:33.01).
Other multiple winners for the women included Ana Anaya from Metro Aquatic Club of Miami and Brittney Phelan. Anaya swept the fly events by winning the 50 fly (26.14), 100 fly (57.04) and 200 fly (2:00.30). Phelan won two events including 50 breast (31.07) and 200 breast (2:20.52).
Fort Lauderdale swept the women's relays, winning the 200 free relay (1:39.17), 400 free relay (3:34.20), 800 free relay (7:45.52), 200-medley relay (1:49.62), and 400-medley relay (4:00.56).
Carlos Omana from Metro Aquatic Club of Miami impressively won five events individually including the 500 free (4:34.75), 1650 free (15:49.98), 200 back (1:54.78), 200 IM (1:54.42), and 400 IM (4:02.68).
Michael Saco of Miami Swimming took control of the sprint free events by winning the 50 free (20.46), 100 free (44.87), and 200 free (1:40.77).
Other multiple event winners were Kevin Lingren from MCA and Stephen Lichtner. Lingren won the 50 back (24.89) and 100 back (53.21) and Lichtner won the 50 fly (24.47) and 100 fly (50.92).
Metro Aquatic Club of Miami swept the men's relays, winning the 200 free relay (1:27.69), 400 free relay (3:13.27), 800 free relay (7:02.09), 200-medley relay (1:38.38), and 400-medley relay (3:33.52).
Fort Lauderdale Aquatics won the championships with 4,068.5 points, Metro Aquatic Club of Miami came in second with 2,182 points, and Plantation Swim Team came in third with 1,502.5 points.
