NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has kept Mabry Bishop in-state for her college career after the Odessa, Fla. native verbally committed to the Seminoles’ Class of 2026.

She will join fellow Sunshine State natives Sarah Evans and Julia Brzozowski, as well as Julia Månsson, in Tallahassee in the fall of 2022.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to swim and continue my academic career at Florida State University!! I want to thank my coach, teammates, friends and family for helping me achieve this goal and can not wait to be apart of the team! Go Noles❤️?”

Bishop trains year-round with Academy Aquatic Club and recorded five top-10 finishes at the International Senior Cup in March after winning two events at the Florida South Senior Championships.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 54.21
  • 200 fly – 2:01.43
  • 200 free – 1:49.52
  • 500 free – 5:11.10
  • 100 back – 56.00
  • 100 free – 51.82
  • 200 back – 2:02.15

A rising senior at Berkeley Preparatory High School, Bishop is a four-time Florida 1A State Championship finalist. She placed second in the 100 fly and fifth in the 100 free as a junior while taking 11th in the 200 IM during her sophomore season.

She will make a big impact on campus, as her best 200 fly time would’ve ranked No. 2 on their lineup last season behind Hannah Womer, who will have graduated by the time Bishop gets there. She also would’ve ranked No. 3 in the 100 fly and No. 4 in the 200 free.
