European Junior Semifinalist Julia Månsson of Sweden Gives 2022 Verbal to Florida State

NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has secured another early verbal commitment for their growing Class of 2026 from breaststroker Julia Månsson of Örebro, Sweden.

She will join Sunshine State natives Sarah Evans and Julia Brzozowski in Tallahassee in the fall of 2022.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“So excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my athletic and academic career at Florida State University!!! I am very grateful for having this opportunity and beyond excited to be part of this amazing team of FSU Swim and dive. I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who has helped me throughout this journey, especially my family, friends and coaches”

Månsson trains with Örebro Simallians and advanced to the semifinals of the 50m breast at the LEN European Junior Championships in July 2019 where she finished 12th overall. In 2018, she placed 14th in the 200m breast at European Juniors.

In LCM, her best times include:

50m breast – 31.92
100m breast – 1:10.46
200m breast – 2:30.33

In SCY, those times convert to:

50 breast – 28.44
100 breast – 1:01.18
200 breast – 2:11.36

Månsson is a big get for the Seminoles and will add valuable depth both individually and on medley relays when she suits up at the start of the 2022-23 season. Her best times (converted to yards) are already fast enough to score in the B-final of both the 100 and 200 breast at the 2020 ACC Championships.
