Five-Star Katie Gardocki Makes College Decision
SUFFIELD, Connecticut, November 1. SWIMMING World five-star prospect Katie Gardocki, who swims for the Aquabears and preps at Suffield High, has pledged her collegiate swimming services.
Gardocki, who would have competed in the B final of the 500-yard free (4:44.03) at the NCAA Division I Championships this year, made Dorsey Tierney-Walker's day when she committed to Auburn.
Gardocki also has U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in the 400-meter free (4:13.00), 800-meter free (8:37.08), 200-meter fly (2:16.61) and 200-meter IM (2:20.30).
"When I went on my visit to Auburn, I felt very comfortable with the coaches and team," Gardocki told Swimming World. "After learning more about their swim program, I just knew Auburn would be able to help me reach my goals in swimming as well as academically."
Gardocki, who was profiled in June by Swimming World, is Auburn's first public pledge for the women's team this year.
