Argentina is cheering for Federico Grabich and his bronze medal in the 100 freestyle at the FINA world championships. It’s the first time the South American country’s flag has been raised in a medal ceremony at the meet, and the 25-year-old talked about the impact it will have on his country with reporters in the mixed zone in Kazan.

Grabich attempted to start the interview in English, but decided to switch to Spanish for the duration. For our Spanish-speaking audience — especially those in Argentina — we present the full interview.

Won Pan-Ams 100 too I believe…not too shabby.

Congrats “Freddy Baby!”

And read somewhere that Mr. “Tough Love” hisself, Aussie Bill Sweetenham, Tracey Wickham’s coach back in the day, has been working w/the Argentine program of late.

Paid dividends.
