BUDAPEST, Hungary, August 6. THE third day of open water swimming at the European Championships featured the 5K team event.
Greece's threesome of Spyridon Gianniotis, Antonios Fokaidis and Kalliopi Araouzou won the race with a 59:03.0, while Italy's Simone Ercoli, Simone Ruffini and Rachele Bruni took second in 59:55.6. Russia's Sergey Bolshakov, Daniil Serebrennikov and Anna Guseva claimed third in 59:59.5.
Germany (1:00:13.5), Spain (1:01:09.7), Czech Republic (1:01:10.2), France (1:02:20.0) and Switzerland (1:02:56.5) placed fourth through eighth.
