Euro-Meet: Two More Meet Records Conclude Event
LUXEMBOURG, January 25. THE Luxembourg Euro-Meet had two more meet records fall during the final day of long course meter competition.
Christian Kubusch hit the wall in 3:50.74 to break his meet record from 2008 of 3:53.34 in the men's 400 free. Meanwhile, Yannick Lebherz touched out Lucien Hassdenteufel, 2:02.28 to 2:02.43, in the men's 200 back as both cleared the 2008 meet record of 2:02.58 set by Jens Thiele.
In other men's swimming, Markus Deibler took home the 100 free title in 50.15, while Helge Meeuw stopped the clock in 25.86 in the 50 back. Johannes Neumann nearly downed Valeriy Dymo's meet record of 1:01.73 with a 1:01.91 in the 100 breast, while Philipp Mosebach touched in 55.39 for the 100 fly victory.
The women were also in action on the final day. Petra Dallmann won the 100 free in 55.53, while Melanie Radicke grabbed the 400 free title in 4:18.83. Christin Zenner touched out Magdalena Kuras, 29.51 to 29.69, to win the 50 back, while Zenner returned with a triumphant 2:17.06 in the 200 back.
Anastasia Korotkov won the 100 breast by half-a-second over Sonja Schober, 1:11.37 to 1:11.89, while Lena Kalla wrapped up the 100 fly crown in 1:00.85.
