Duquesne Begins Writing Campaign, Asks for Transfer Recruiting to Hold off Until After Championship Season
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania, January 27. AS most of our readers already know, Duquesne elected to cut men's swimming along with three other men's teams earlier this week. The team has begun to fight for its right to exist, while also asking the rest of the coaching community to give it a fighting chance.
While head coach Dave Sheets has been working the phones non-stop working on strategies to help save his program, the first public step has been a writing campaign. He's asked that all Atlantic 10 coaches and swimmers contact Duquesne's athletic director and president voicing their reasons for keeping Duquesne's team.
Additionally, Sheets has asked that any coach planning on recruiting his team members please hold off until after the championship season.
