Division II Meet Of The Week: Nunn Continues To Shine As Drury Women Win Home Invite

Both Drury teams hosted six teams this weekend at the 2016 Drury Invitational at home in Breech Pool in Springfield, MO. Following two days of competition, the number one ranked Panther women finished at the top of the pack with 1,137.5 points to continue what has been a stellar season so far. Lindenwood University finished first among men’s teams with 939 points, just ahead of Missouri S&T (824) and Drury (724).

Freshman Bailee Nunn continued what has been a strong freshman year, touching first in four individual events over the course of the two day meet. Nunn won the 200 breast (2:16.84), 100 butterfly (55.02), 100 breast (1:02.86), and 200 IM (2:01.12). Nunn currently has the top time in the country in the 200 breast at 2:15.30, and she improved upon her season best in the 200 IM from earlier in the year by about half a second.

Nunn’s classmate Erica Dahlgren also recorded wins in the 1,000 freestyle in 10.17.77, just off her season best, and the 500 free in 5:02.09. She currently sits second in the country in the 1,000 and first in the country in the 500. Senior Wen Xu also recorded two individual wins, taking the 100 (51.83) and 50 free (23.13), the latter of which was a season best and puts her second in the country.

Notable swims on the men’s side included Drury junior Kim Jun Han in the 200 butterfly (1:48.90), just a second off his top ranked time in the country, and Lindenwood junior Sergei Golban in the 50 free (20.64) and 100 butterfly (49.19).
