Diver Abbie Harned Announces Verbal Commitment to Northern Michigan University

NEW COMMIT: Northern Michigan University has added a new in-state verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from diver Abbie Harned of Sanford, Mich.

She will suit up for the Wildcats as a member of the class of 2025 along with Becca Burrows, Cecilia Hagewood, Heidi Billings, Emma Clifford, Zoe DeKievit, Ella Houwers, and Faith Sill.

She told Swimming World:

“i’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to dive at northern michigan university! i couldn’t have done it without the support of my coaches, family, and friends!”

Harned trains with Bay City Aquatics and competed at the USA Diving Junior Region 5 Championships in 2018 and 2019. While competing for Bay City Western High School, she finished ninth on the 1-meter board at the Michigan DII State Championships during her junior season. She also won that event at the SVL Championships
