Denniston Asks The Swim Community to “Keep Me in Mind” As He Undergoes Surgery Today

FORT COLLINS, Colorado, February 7. US National Team member Dave Denniston is in Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins, Colorado, awaiting surgery this afternoon, after a sledding accident yesterday left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Characteristically, he is in good spirits, joking around. However, he asks for all of us in the swimming community to keep him in mind this afternoon. His words, “It’s a big day for me.”

He said he appreciates everything everyone is doing, and thanked his friend Andy Miller for keeping his composure and getting help so quickly yesterday after the accident.

More updates as they come in.
