Dayton Raiders Dominate Ohio Championships
CINCINNATI, Ohio. March 14. THE short course Ohio "Age Group Championships" (Mar 10-12 – Cincinnati) and Ohio "Senior" Championships (Mar 3-5 – Oxford) were completed this past weekend with the Dayton Raiders winning the combined team title for the second year in a row.
Overall team scores: Dayton Raiders-3,311, Cincinnati Marlins-2,928, Cincinnati Aquatics-2,281.
At the Senior Champs held at Miami University, the Cincinnati Marlins took the team title with 1,597 and Dayton was 2nd with 1,074 points. At the Age Group Champs the following weekend at Keating Natatorium, Dayton finished first with 2,2337 points followed by Cincinnati Aquatics with 1,805 points and the Marlins with 1,331 points.
The Raiders won age group high point in the 11-12 boys, 13-14 boys, and 15-18 girls, while posting two Ohio records and National top 3 rankings in two 13-14 boys events: 400 IM – Aaron Buchanan 4:05.47, and in the 200 Back 1:51.71 – Andrew Abeysinghe.
