NEW COMMIT: Versatile Kendra Preski of Springfield, Ill. has announced her verbal commitment to Colorado State University and will arrive on campus as a member of the class of 2024. She’ll also join Emma Breslin next fall.

Preski, who owns seven Futures qualifying times, swims year-round with Springfield YMCA Swim Team. She most recently competed at Des Moines Futures this past summer where she finished sixth in the 200m and 16th in the 200m free. At YMCA Nationals in April, she recorded a pair of best times en route to placing 11th in the 1000 free, 19th in the 200 fly, and 22nd in the 200 free.

She told Swimming World:

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Colorado State University! On my visit the coaches and team felt like family and CSU has the perfect combination of academics and athletics for me. I want to thank my family, friends, and all of my coaches who have supported me in my swimming journey. I can’t wait for the next four years as a Ram!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 56.97
  • 200 fly – 2:03.33
  • 100 back – 57.47
  • 200 back – 2:02.85
  • 100 free – 51.95
  • 200 free – 1:51.27
  • 500 free – 4:57.64
  • 1650 free – 16:59.51

Preski’s versatility will be extremely beneficial when she suits up for the Rams at the start of the 2020-21 season and she could find herself in a number of different events during her college career. She would’ve scored in the C-final of the 200 free, 500 free, 200 fly, and placed top-15 in the mile at the 2019 Mountain West Conference Championships where Colorado State finished seventh overall in the team standings.
