NEW COMMIT: Austin, Texas native and high school junior Coby Carrozza has announced his in-state verbal commitment to the Longhorns as a member of the class of 2024 via Instagram.

His older sister, Quinn Carrozza, is currently a senior All-American at Texas and his older brother Crayton Carrozza, will join the Longhorns’ track and field team this fall.

A local product, Carrozza does his club swimming with Longhorn Aquatics and owns seven U.S. Open standards. He won the 200/500 free combo, was the 100 free runner-up and took third in the 200 fly at Juniors West last month. He was a four-time finalist at Junior Nationals this past summer and achieved 100% lifetime bests at College Station Speedo Sectionals last March.

His best times include:

  • 100 fly – 48.82
  • 200 fly – 1:45.34
  • 100 back – 48.84
  • 200 back – 1:45.59
  • 50 free – 20.58
  • 100 free – 43.57
  • 200 free – 1:34.67
  • 500 free – 4:16.95

Even with 1.5 years of club swimming still to go before suiting up for the Longhorns at the start of the 2020-21 season, Carrozza would’ve scored in the top-five of the 2018 Big 12 Championships in the 100/200/500 free as well as the 200 fly. He will also join Ethan Heasley and Carson Foster in Austin in the class of 2024.
