Cincinnati Collects First 2022 Verbal Pledge from Junior National Qualifier Abi Carroll

NEW COMMIT: The University of Cincinnati has received their first early verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Abi Carroll of Heath, Texas.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m beyond excited to finally announce that I have verbally committed to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Cincinnati! I wouldn’t have been able to do this without my family, friends, and coaches by my sides. I am honored to be part of this amazing team! Go Bearcats!! ?❤️?”

A talented backstroker and freestyler, Carroll does her club swimming with Rockwall Aquatic Center of Excellence. In Summer 2019, she raced five events at Des Moines Futures where she placed 15th in the 1500m free after finaling in the 200m back at Austin Sectionals.

Her best times include:

100 back – 57.01
200 back – 2:00.14
400 IM – 4:28.55
200 free – 1:53.52
500 free – 4:59.61
1000 free – 10:09.57
1650 free – 17:10.52

Carroll will add valuable backstroke and freestyle depth when she arrives on campus as a member of the Class of 2026. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 100/200 back as well as placed top-15 in the mile at the 2020 American Athletic Conference Championships where the Bearcats were the team runners-up.
