Cassidy Bayer of the USA posted a 2:10.32 to claim the first-place seed going into tonight’s finals of the 200-meter fly. Bayer’s seed time of 2:08.03 is quicker than the championship meet record of 2:08.10 set by Netsuke Akiyama in 2008 so look for her to challenge that record in tonight’s finals. Teammate Hannah Kukurugya finished only .10 seconds behind with a 2:10.42 from the same heat.

China’s Wang Siqi claimed the third-place seed with a finishing time of 2:10.99.
