Canadian Short Course Championships: Distance Finals Features on Night One
LONDON, Ontario & KAMLOOPS, British Columbia, Canada. February 18. THE Canadian Short Course Championships, which are split between Eastern and Western locations, began with distance freestyle timed finals last night.
In the East, Zsofi Balazs won the women's 1500 free in 16:23.52 with Susana Escobar taking second in 16:24.25. Bridget Coley wound up third in 16:36.65. Meanwhile, Luis Escobar topped the men's 800 free in 8:03.14, while Daniel Jensen (8:09.61) and Antoine David (8:12.85) completed the top three.
In the West, Sherry Liu earned the women's 1500 free title in 16:44.08. Breann Siwicki (16:50.84) and Nadine Williams (16:57.79) took second and third. Alec Page turned in an 8:01.81 to win the men's 800 free crown, while Keegan Zanatta touched second in 8:03.60. Chad Bobrosky took third in 8:11.79.
