Cal Wins Both Relays; USC Divers Score Big Points in Pac-12 Championships
The Cal men’s swim team took a strong opening lead, winning both relays on the opening night of the Pac-12 Men’s Championship on Wednesday.
But thanks to diving, it was USC that took the early lead.
USC scored three divers in the 1-meter, and went 1-2 in 3-meter diving behind Henry Fusaro (434.80) and Dashiell Enos (420.25). Enos also took second in platform and sixth in 1-meter. Fusaro was second on 1-meter and Dylan Marin was seventh.
Arizona State’s Youssef Selim won 1-meter (382.90). Stanford’s Theodore Miclau won platform (398.35).
The Trojans scored 120 points in diving before the swimming even began.
USC leads with 177 points, followed by Cal (162), Stanford (156), Arizona State (134), Utah (125) and Arizona (62).
Once the swimming started, it was Cal that took a lead.
