Sprinter Elise Garcia has verbally committed to the University of California-Berkley’s Class of 2022.

Garcia is the 2017 California high school state runner up in the 50 freestyle. She also finished third in the 100 freestyle, racing for Crean Lutheran. Entering the meet Garcia was the 50 freestyle state meet record holder. Garcia still has another high school season to reclaim her record.

A week earlier in the high school season Garcia was the CIF Southern Section Division 2 champion in the 50 freestyle and runner up in the 100 free. She was also a key piece of the team’s winning and record setting 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays.

Garcia trains with SOCAL Aquatics Association.

Garcia’s best SCY times are:

  • 200 Fly 1:56.64
  • 50 Free 22.64
  • 100 Free 49.52
  • 200 Free 1:49.94

Garcia joins Cassidy Bayer in the Golden Bears’ Class of 2022.
