Caeleb Dressel Out of 200 Free, Still Scheduled for Weekend at Nationals

Caeleb Dressel did not compete in the 200 free, though he was on the heat sheets this morning at the 2019 Phillips 66 US National Championships.

USA Swimming officials confirmed he is planning to swim this weekend.

But it was Kieran Smith who took the top seed in 1:46.21 to finish a full second ahead of the second-seeded Elijah Winnington of Australia (1:47.21).

Maxime Rooney took the third seed in 1:47.32, followed by Jordan Pothain (1:47.63), Patrick Callan (1:47.68), Trenton Julian (1:47.73), Dean Farris (1:47.76) and Mitch D’Arrigo (1:47.79).

Luca Urlando finished 15th in 1:49.12 to make the B final.

Ryan Lochte did compete and finished 37th (1:50.25).
