Bumpy Jones Bests a Few More FINA Masters World Records
CORAL SPRINGS, Florida, December 9. AT a short course meter meet held in Coral Springs, Fla, Burwell "Bumpy" Jones surpassed another handful of men's 75-79 age group FINA Masters world records. He's been on a tear of late with various standards falling before him in the division.
He cleared the men's 400 IM record of 6:52.62 set by Karl Hauter of Germany in 2001 with a swift time of 6:52.50 in the event. He then posted a time of 11:38.56 in the men's 800 free to better the 11:44.84 set by Graham Johnston of the U.S. in 2006, before clocking a time of 3:00.01 in the men's 200 IM. That performance eclipsed the 3:10.06 set by Hauter in 2000.
Finally, Jones hit the wall in 1:19.71 in the men's 100 back to best the 1:23.81 set by Clarke Mitchell of the U.S. last year.
