Bulldogs Keep Georgia 7A 50 Free Champion Allison Damron In State for 2022-23

NEW COMMIT: The University of Georgia has picked up their fifth verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from in-state standout Allison Damron of Mableton, Ga.

She will join Olivia Della TorreHeidi StalkfleetElizabeth Isakson and Emma Norton as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Georgia! I have so much gratitude for my family, friends, and coaches who have helped along the way, I’m so excited to become a bulldog!! ?❤️”

A talented sprinter, Damron does her club swimming with Swim Atlanta and most recently earned three best times at Georgia Seniors last month after posting four top-12 finishes at 18&U Winter Championships in December.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.26
  • 100 free – 52.16
  • 200 free – 1:55.13
  • 100 breast – 1:03.23
  • 100 fly – 58.59
  • 200 IM – 2:04.58

Currently a junior at Campbell High School, Damron is a five-time individual Georgia 7A State Championship finalist. She collected gold in the 100 free and bronze in the 100 breast in 2021 while taking third in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 free during her sophomore season.

Damron will add her talents to a training group that will include Maxine ParkerSloane ReinsteinMady Bragg, and Julianna Stephens. Georgia finished third overall in the team standings at the 2021 SEC Championships.

The Bulldogs are also bringing in a large and talented Class of 2025 that includes Hailey Hicks, Angharad Evans, Ava KennedyBriana RobersonHailey GalbraithDuné CoetzeeMia AbruzzoLily GardnerMary MartinElsa Fretz and Rachel Stege.
