Yesterday Florida State added New Zealand’s Paige Schendelaar-Kemp to a growing recruiting class. Today Brazil’s Ana Giulia Zortea also announced her commitment to the Seminoles.

She told Swimming World,

“I’m very happy to be going to FSU, I’m sure I will be able to achieve my dreams there. I choose the FSU, for it’s amazing structure and great coaches!!”

Her best times are:

  • 50 Back 29.98 LCM
  • 50 Free 25.4 LCM
  • 100 Free 55.8 SCM

Those times convert to SCY times of:

  • 50 Back 26.08
  • 50 Free 22.06
  • 100 Free 49.53

If Giulia Zoreta can make the transition to short course yards, she could turn out to be a huge addition to the class. Her converted 50 freestyle time would have made her an A finalist in the ACC last year. Last year FSU’s top finishers were sophomore Alexi Smith (22.99) and junior Lydia Ware (23.10) in 23rd and 24th. In the 100 freestyle she would have been a C finalist at last year’s meet. She should also have relay potential for the Seminoles.

Madison HollandHailey Ladd, Kara Coughlin, and Audrey Mooney have also committed to the Seminoles. Christi DiPaolo will start with the team this January after transferring from Ohio State.
