Florida State has been on a recent recruiting roll. Neal Studd has pulled in some talent as he builds his first class with the Seminoles. Paige Schendelaar-Kemp has given her verbal commitment to the team. She attends Pakuranga College in Auckland, New Zealand and swims for Howick Pakuranga Swim Club

Schendelaar-Kemp told Swimming World,

“I chose Florida State University because the athletic programme is second to none. I fell in love with the coaching staff immediately and am excited to see where FSU takes me. No words can describe how thrilled I am to be joining the Seminole family! GO NOLES!!!”

Her best times are (SCM/SCY Converted):

  • 100 Fly 1:00.52/ 54.23
  • 200 Fly 2:15.48/ 2:01.39
  • 50 Free 25.84/ 23.15
  • 100 Free 55.90/50.09
  • 200 Free 2:01.07/ 1:48.48
  • 200 IM 2:17.06/ 2:02.81

With those converted times, she’ll enter the ACC with some scoring ability. She would have been a C finalist in the 100 and 200 butterfly last year. Freshman Megan Brown (1:57.45) was the team’s only scorer in the 200 last year while classmate Leila Johnstron (54.94) was flying solo in the 100. Schendelaar-Kemp will be just on the cusp of scoring in the 100 free and 200 IM.
