Barron, Cortens Win Twice As Boston College Sweeps Providence

Boston College travelled to Providence on Friday, where the Eagle men defeated the Friars 147-56, while the Boston College women took down Providence 120-85. The meet was swum in short course meters.
Both the Eagle women (4:30.72) and men (3:55.48) won the 400 medley relay. The men went on to win the 400 free relay (3:29.97) while the women took second (4:07.58).
Anthony Richardson (1:54.14) and Matthew Zerweck (2:00.47) went 1-2 in the men’s 200 free. Richardson later won the 400 free (4:02.48).
The Eagle men swept the men’s 200 fly, led by Taylor Cortens (2:08.66). They also swept the men’s 50 free, led by Dan Kelly (22.91). Cortens later won the 400 IM (4:36.21).
Conor Chamness won the men’s 100 free (53.47), followed by teammate Cole Vanderwel (55.11). Maureen Barron won the women’s 50 free (27.20) and 100 free (1:00.37).
Ali McDonough won the women’s 200 breast (2:46.10), followed by teammate Abbi Kordell (2:48.76). Billy Miller won the men’s 200 breast (2:32.64).
Other Eagle event winners included Emily Mann in the women’s 400 IM (5:15.21), Josh Williams in the men’s 200 back (2:10.43), and Emily Smith in the women’s 200 fly (2:27.80).
Boston College has a quick turnaround as they host Boston on Saturday at 1pm EST.
