Babson, WPI, Elms Tri-Meet
BABSON PARK, Massachusetts, November 10. SOPHOMORE Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) officially qualified for selection to the NCAA Championships in the 1-meter diving event on Saturday, as the Babson College Beavers split a tri-meet with visiting WPI and Elms College in Morse Pool. Babson defeated Elms, 68-25, but lost to WPI, 86-41. WPI completed the sweep with an 86-15 win over Elms.
Paradis won both diving events, including another outstanding performance off the 1-meter board. By meeting the NCAA Championship standard for the second time this season, he qualified for selection to nationals this coming March. The reigning NEWMAC Champion in both the 1- and 3-meter events qualified for the second straight season, although he was not selected to compete last winter.
Also performing well for the Beavers on Saturday was first-year Mauricio Krantzberg (Cancun, Mexico), who won a total of three events. He finished first in both the 50 and 100 freestyle races while also competing on Babson's victorious 200 medley relay team.
With the split, the Babson men are now 3-2 on the season.
Special thanks to Babson for contributing this report.
