STANFORD, California, January 23. AFTER rumors swirled yesterday that Austin Staab was no longer with the Stanford men's swimming and diving program, Swimming World received confirmation today from Stanford that he has taken a leave of absence from the University.
Staab, who is a 13-time All-American for Stanford, let the team know about his decision this week. The University has stated that the cause for his leave is "a private and personal matter" and that Staab plans on returning to Stanford at a later date.
