Auburn Picks Up Three Class of 2025 Verbals from Lexie Mulvihill, Lucy O’Neill, Jenna Smith

NEW COMMITS: Auburn University has three new additions to their growing class of 2025: Lexie Mulvihill of Lutz, Fla., Lucy O’Neill from Spanish Fort, Ala., and Englewood, Colo. native Jenna Smith.

All three talented swimmers will join Abby McCullohEllie Waldrep and Rebekah Hamilton on campus as members of the class of 2025.

A talented sprinter, Mulvihill swims year-round with Tampa Elite Aquatics and has achieved the Olympic Trials cut in the 50m free with five additional Juniors cuts. She earned bronze in the 50 free and took sixth in the 100 free at Juniors East in December and placed ninth in that event at NCSAs in 2019. Last summer, she earned 100% best times at Junior Nationals where she raced to fifth in the 50m free.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“The moment I stepped on campus, I knew Auburn is where I am meant to be. The feeling of home and family is what I have always dreamed of in a school which is why I’m beyond excited to announce that I have verbally committed to further my academic and swimming careers at Auburn University. I can’t thank my coach and teammates enough for pushing me in the pool on a daily basis, and my family and friends for all their support. Special thanks to my parents for being the best role models I can ask for and my brother for being my number one fan. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Auburn family and with that being said… WAR EAGLE!”

A current junior at George Steinbrenner High School, Mulvihill is a five-time Florida 4A State Championship finalist. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 50 free and was the 100 free runner-up as a junior while taking second in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 fly during her sophomore season.

  • 50 free – 22.46
  • 100 free – 49.58
  • 50 back – 25.35
  • 100 back – 55.64
  • 50 fly – 25.02
  • 100 fly – 54.60

LUCY O’NEILL

O’Neill, who owns the Winter Juniors cut in the 100 fly, does her club swimming with City of Mobile Swim Association. She most recently placed fourth in the 200m free at Cary Sectionals after earning silver in the 200m fly and bronze in the 200m IM at the Southeastern Championships. She also notched four best times at Greensboro Futures last summer.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Auburn University where I will be continuing my swimming and academic career! I am so blessed to have this opportunity, and I cannot thank everyone around me enough for helping me get to where I am today. I can’t wait to start this new era of my life and WAR EAGLE!”

Also competing for Saint Michael’s Catholic High School, O’Neill is a six-time Alabama State Championship finalist. She grabbed gold in the 100 fly and 200 free in her junior season and won the 200/500 free combo during her sophomore campaign.

  • 100 fly – 55.27
  • 200 fly – 2:04.31
  • 100 free – 51.48
  • 200 free – 1:50.36
  • 500 free – 5:00.97

JENNA SMITH

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Auburn University. Thank you to my teammates, coaches, friends and especially family for helping make this possible. I can’t wait to be an Auburn Tiger! WAR EAGLE!!! #WDE”

A versatile swimmer, Smith competes year-round with University of Denver Hilltoppers and has met four Junior National time standards. She finished 13th in the 100 free at Juniors West before she competed in four events at TYR Pro Swim Series – Knoxville. Additionally, she had a pair of top-6 finishes at Mount Hood Sectionals and recorded a best time at Juniors Nationals last summer.

  • 50 free – 23.36
  • 100 free – 50.07
  • 200 free – 1:50.91
  • 200 back – 2:00.40
  • 100 fly – 55.19
