Arizona DIII State Champion Nathan Kempiak Verbally Commits to NC State for 2021

NEW COMMIT: NC State has earned a new verbal commitment for their growing class of 2025 from Nathan Kempiak of Gilbert, Az.

He will join Alexander Noergaard, Aiden HayesDavid CurtissGarrett BooneArsenio Bustos and Sam Hoover in Raleigh at the start of the 2021-22 season.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am so blessed and exited to announce my verbal commitment to NC State’s swim and academic programs! I have to thank God and all of my coaches, family, and teammates who helped me get to where I am today! Going from the best to the best. Truly exited to crush future goals with an incredible program. Let’s go pack! See you Fall of 2021♦️?”

Kempiak, who owns the Junior National standard in the 100 breast, swims year-round with Rio Salado Swim Club. He most recently won the 100 breast at the Arizona Senior Open where he earned 100% best times. Last summer, he raced four events at Des Moines Futures after notching lifetime bests at Arizona LCM Seniors and Mount Hood Sectionals.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 55.75
  • 200 breast – 2:04.68
  • 50 free – 20.98
  • 100 free – 47.34
  • 200 IM – 1:59.83

A rising senior at Gilbert Christian High School, Kempiak is a six-time Arizona DIII State Championship finalist. He earned gold in the 100 breast and grabbed bronze in the 50 free as a junior while taking third in those events during his sophomore season. He also raced to silver in the 100 breast at the 2019 Arizona Meet of Champions.

Under head coach Braden Holloway, the Wolfpack secured their sixth-straight ACC title this past season.
