Arizona Bears Down Into Class of 2025 with Verbal from CIF State Finalist Jack Donovan

NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Jack Donovan of Newcastle, Calif. has pledged his verbal commitment to the University of Arizona beginning in the fall of 2021.

He will join Tate Bahti, Alex McMahon and Connor West as a member of the Wildcats’ class of 2025.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am excited to announce my commitment to swim and study at the University of Arizona! BEAR DOWN”

A versatile swimmer, Donovan does his club swimming with Wolverine Aquatics and most recently placed fifth in the 100 back at the Cal Invite after racing three events at Juniors West. Last summer, he was the 100m back runner-up at Mount Hood Futures before going on to compete at Junior Nationals.

His best times include:

  • 100 back – 49.15
  • 50 free – 20.72
  • 100 free – 45.97
  • 100 fly – 50.40

Also competing for Del Oro High School, Donovan placed 10th in the 100 back and 14th in the 50 free as a sophomore at the CIF State Championships. He also finished first and second, respectively, in those events at the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section meet in 2020.
