CHICAGO, Illinois, December 11. DURING the final stop of the TYR Grand Prix held in Chicago, one more FINA Masters World Record was bettered in short course meter competition.
Bryan Bateman of Team Illinois cleared Robert Strand's 60-64 men's 100 IM record of 1:06.70 set in 2006 with a top time of 1:07.88 at the meet held at the University of Chicago.
Catherine Kohn bested the USMS standard of 3:12.18 in the women's 55-59 200 breast with a time of 3:07.49. That performance came up short of Jennifer Merritt's FINA global standard of 3:06.41.
