Aaron Feight Earns Sun Belt Performer of the Week Award
DENVER, Colo. January, 26. UNIVERSITY of Denver diver Aaron Feight (Littleton, Colo.) was named Sun Belt Conference Performer of the Week, as announced by league officials today. It is the seventh honor this season for Feight and is the second consecutive week that he has earned the nod.
Feight earned the honor for his performance on Jan. 20 against regional rival Air Force. For the seventh time this season Feight swept the competition by taking first place on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, scoring valuable points for the Pioneer men in their 128-115 victory over the Falcons. He posted scores of 339.95 on the 1-meter and 352.15 on the 3-meter. Feight along with teammates Hannah Duckett (Magnolia, Texas) and Holly Watson (Sugar Land, Texas) have qualified for the 2006 NCAA Zone Diving competition to be held in Oklahoma City, Okla. on Mar. 9-11.
The Pioneer swimming and diving teams return to the water this weekend with several events. The women’s team heads to Fort Collins for a dual meet with Colorado State on Jan. 27, while the men’s team will swim at the Colorado College Classic. The divers will compete at the Air Force Diving Invitational on Jan. 27-28. The Pioneers will next be in action at El Pomar Natatorium on Feb. 16-17 when they host the 2006 Sun Belt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
