Kyle Chalmers and Ingeborg Loyning Tie the Knot in South Australia
Australian Olympic champion Kyle Chalmers and fiancee Ingeborg Loyning, a Norwegian star, married last week in South Australia, and took to social media earlier this week to announce their nuptials. The couple shared multiple images from the wedding on Instagram, including a photo that showed them signing their marriage certificate with daughter Astrid part of the ceremony.
Chalmers is the 2016 Olympic champion in the 100-meter freestyle and captured silver medals in the event at the past two editions of the Games. The Australian star has been a stalwart for Australian swimming for a decade, including as a go-to performer in relay competition. As for Loyning, she is the Norwegian record holder in all three backstroke events, ranging from the 50-meter distance to the 200.
According to a report by MSN, Chalmers and Loyning tied the knot in a garden setting, with Loyning wearing a traditional Norwegian dress.
Chalmers will have multiple racing options on the global stage this year, as the Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championships are scheduled for 2026. Chalmers is the reigning Commonwealth champion in the 100 freestyle and won the gold medal in the event at the 2018 edition of the Pan Pacific Champs.
