Florida Gator Caeleb Dressel easily earned the rights to lane four in the 100 free A final while his 100 fly rival, Texas Longhorn Joseph Schooling failed to make it in either final for the second year in a row, after having won the event as a freshman and sophomore.
The NC State men set a new NCAA and American record in the 4×100 Free relay while their sprint stud Ryan Held moved up in the all-time rankings with his lead-off split of 41.09.
