Swimming World Performance Of The Week: Ranomi Kromowidjojo’s 50 Freestyle
While much of the swimming world continued to grind out holiday training, there were some notable swims at the Indian Ocean Short Course Meet this past week. Of those, Ranomi Kromowidjojo’s 50 freestyle stood out as a highlight performance. Kromowidjojo touched the wall in 23.76, winning the event and setting a new meet record in the process. Considering the time of year, that time is not too far off of her world record of 23.24 that she tied at the most recent Duel in the Pool. All told, Kromowidjojo took home five wins throughout the meet in addition to the 50 freestyle, including the 50 fly (25.39), 50 backstroke (27.48), 100 butterfly (58.54), and 100 freestyle (52.57).
Congratulations Ranomi Kromowidjojo on earning the Swimming World Performance of the Week!
