Zhu Sets NAG Record in 100 Breast

SEWELL, New Jersey, April 11. THERE’S a new NAG record-holder in the 10-and-under division, thanks to the talents of Annie Zhu. Representing LaGuardia Aquatics (New York), Zhu recently clocked 1:09.79 in the 100-yard breaststroke at a zone qualifying meet. The time dipped under the former record of 1:10.37, set by Laura Davis in 1995.

At the Eastern Zone Championships at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology earlier this month, Zhu turned in two more impressive efforts, as she won the 50 and 100 breast events and helped Metro Swimming win the team title. At the Zone Champs, Zhu went 32.65 for the 50 breast and 1:09.98 in the 100 distance.
