On the evening of May 11th, a special water show was held in Yingxiong Sports Swimming and Diving Hall of Zhaoqing Sports Center.

The event attracted over a thousand citizens and water sports enthusiasts. The performances lit up the Zhaoqing City night sky with enthusiasm, and cheers in anticipation for the upcoming FINA Diving World Cup.

The diving tower at the facility, with platforms at 20 and 27 meters in height, is the only permanent diving facility that is capable of hosting high diving events and training the world. The FINA event begins May 25 – 26. Pictured are many performers and officials from the May 11th event.

High Diving from almost 100 feet has a long history as a professional sport, dating the early 1900s and in the 1960s and 1970s was a popular feature on ABC’s Wide World of Sports. Red Bull revived it and it is now a FINA World Championship event with the expectation that it will soon join the Olympic program.
