NEW COMMIT: Georgia Tech has picked up yet another verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from Sean Santos of Olney, Md.

Both talented swimmers will join Will CoadyBen Gerhard, Chris Richardson and Stephen Jones as a member of the Yellow Jackets’ Class of 2026.

He told Swimming World:

“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at Georgia Tech! I want to thank all of my family, friends, teammates, and coaches, especially Dave, Matt, and Coop, for getting me to this point. I would also like to thank Coach Courtney and Coach Angie for giving me the opportunity to join an amazing program. I’m incredibly honored to be a part of the Georgia Tech community and swim team. Go jackets!!”

A talented distance freestyler, Santos trains year-round with Rockville Montgomery Swim Club and most recently earned a pair of best times at Richmond Sectionals where his highest finish was a fourth-place showing in the 1500m free. He also placed ninth in the 1000 free at NCSAs and won the 1000/1650 combo at the 18&U Winter Championships – Potomac Valley.

His best times include:

A rising senior at Good Counsel High School, Santos is a four-time individual Washington Catholic Championship finalist. He won the 500 free and placed third in the 100 breast as a sophomore while taking silver in both of those events during his freshman season.

The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American earned gold in the 500 free at the National Catholic High School Championships in 2020.
