Yale Secures 2027 Verbal From Junior National Finalist Evan Pan-Wang

NEW COMMIT: Plano, Texas native Evan Pan-Wang has announced his verbal commitment* to Yale University beginning in Fall 2027. Pan-Wang is an incredibly versatile swimmer who owns Junior National cuts in nine different events.

He will join Fin McLane as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2031.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Yale. I am deeply grateful to my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me and made this possible. Go Bulldogs!”

Pan-Wang, who does his club swimming with Metroplex Aquatics, placed seventh in the 100 fly, 14th in the 100 free and 16th in the 100 back at Juniors West in December. He then went on to win the 100 back and take third in the 100 fly at Justin Speedo Sectionals in March.

Yesterday, he finished sixth in the 100m free at Junior Nationals.

His best times include:

  • 50 back – 22.25
  • 100 back – 47.76
  • 200 back – 1:45.86
  • 50 fly – 21.98
  • 100 fly – 47.36
  • 50 free – 20.42
  • 100 free – 44.16
  • 200 IM – 1:47.00

Yale finished eighth at the 2026 Ivy League Championships. Pan-Wang’s top times are already fast enough to score in the B-final of the 100 back and 100 fly as well as the C-final of the 200 back and 200 IM at the conference meet.
