Women’s Division I Top 10 Weekend Preview

By Emily Mason

PHOENIX, Arizona, January 26. SOME battles are brewing in the pool this weekend as the action heats up all over the country. Be sure to check back for results from these top meets.

1. Georgia: The Dawgs are heading to Columbia for a tri-meet with South Carolina and Alabama. It shouldn't take much for these girls to swim away with the win.

2. Auburn: The women are paired up with Arkansas to cap off the month, not too much like the competition at Florida last weekend. These Tigers will get an easy win.

3. Stanford: Heading south for the weekend? These ladies are, hitting a doubleheader in Los Angeles with UCLA on Friday and USC on Saturday.

4. Florida: After suffering a loss at the hands of Auburn, Florida is set up to do battle with Tennessee on Friday.

5. Arizona: The Wildcats play host to a two-day meet against long-time rival Texas. Fast times will occasionally creep up at this multi-day event in Tucson.

6. Cal: The Bears are heading in the same direction as Stanford and will take on USC this Friday and UCLA on Saturday. These are two of their last three meets in the regular season.

7. UCLA: The PAC-10 in California is busy this weekend. These Bears host Stanford tomorrow and Cal on Saturday. Fast swimming will surely follow.

8. SMU: The Mustangs have nothing to do this weekend after taking out Rice and North Texas in dual-meet action last weekend.

9. Wisconsin: The Wisconsin women will compete in the Big Ten Quad Duals this weekend in Minneapolis and will face Minnesota, Illinois, and No. 14 ranked Purdue.

10. Texas: The Longhorns travel to Arizona this weekend to take on the Wildcats on a two-day meet schedule.
