NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Lienfang Yu, a breaststroker and IMer from Rogers, Arkansas, has verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin for the fall of 2023.

She will join Maddie Waggoner in Madison as a member of the Badgers’ Class of 2027.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at the University of Wisconsin! A huge thank you to my family, teammates, and coaches who have helped me get to this point. I can’t wait for this journey with an amazing new team. Go badgers! ❤️?

Yu does her club swimming with Northwest Arkansas Aquatics and won the 100 breast and 200 IM at Arkansas Seniors in March after five top-4 finishes at Columbia Sectionals. Last summer, she finished 15th in the 50m breast and 17th in the 100m breast at the NCSA Championships.

Her best times include:

A rising senior at Bentonville High School, Yu is the Arkansas 6A state record holder in the 200 medley relay, 400 free relay, 100 breast and 200 IM. She has led her team to four straight championship titles.

As a freshman, Yu won the 100 breast, 200 IM and 400 free relay. As a sophomore, she won the 100 breast, 200 IM, 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. As a junior, she won all four of those events again.
