Get caught up on the exciting races from day three of the 2018 Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships! Team USA veterans collected victories in several key events, including the women’s 50 breast, men’s 50 back, men’s 400 IM, and both the men’s and women’s 100 fly.

Ryan Murphy unleashed a new American record in Irvine, California, clocking a time of 24.24 in the men’s 50 back. His swim also posted new u.S. Open and championship records.

After tying the U.S. Open record in the men’s 50 breast in the preliminary session, Michael Andrew succeeded in edging past it by a slim .02 seconds.

Ally McHugh, representing Penn State, delivered a monstrous upset in finals of the women’s 400 IM. She utilized a strong final 100 meters to catapult herself past leaders Brooke Forde, Leah Smith, and Melanie Margalis to finish strong with a time of 4:34.80.
