LONG BEACH, California, May 15. JUST a day after Cindy Tran of Edison smashed the national high school record in the women's 100-yard back, Torrance's Vlad Morozov clipped the national high school record in the men's 50-yard free.
According to OC Register's Dan Albano, Morozov clocked a spending time of 19.43 as Torrance's 50-yard leadoff in the men's 200-yard freestyle relay tonight at the CIF-SS Division 3 finals held at the Belmont Plaza.
That swim clipped Jimmy Feigen's national mark of 19.49 set for Winston Churchill back in 2008, and is well ahead of the independent school record of 19.74 clocked by McDonogh's Giles Smith last year.
