NEW COMMIT: Villanova University has earned their first verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from Savannah, Ga. native Audrey Pastorek.

Primarily a backstroker, Pastorek swims year-round with Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team and owns three Winter Juniors time standards. She most recently competed at the Southern Premier Invitational where she finished fourth in the 100 back after winning the 200 back at Georgia SCY Seniors. This past summer, she earned gold in the 200m back and bronze in the 400m IM at Georgia LCM Seniors en route to achieving five best times.

Also competing for Savannah Country Day School, Pastorek is a four-time Georgia 1-5A State Championship finalist. The NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 100 back and 200 IM as a sophomore after finishing third in both events during her rookie campaign.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at Villanova University! With the combination of family atmosphere, coaching philosophy, and academic reputation, I knew Villanova was the right fit for me. I cannot wait to be part of such an incredible team starting in 2020. Go Wildcats!!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 55.15
  • 200 back – 1:58.85
  • 200 IM – 2:03.40
  • 400 IM – 4:21.56
  • 100 breast – 1:05.88
  • 500 free – 5:02.13

Pastorek will make an immediate impact in Villanova’s backstroke and IM group when she suits up for the Wildcats as a member of the class of 2024. Even with over a year of club swimming still to go, her best time would’ve won the 200 back at the 2019 Big East Championships while she also would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 back and both IMs.
